Planar Chaos PCD Endless March

For the creatures in the “Endless March” deck, the battle never ends—and they wouldn’t have it any other way. This deck revolves around the interaction of vanishing and “rescue.” It’s an ideal match: When a vanishing creature gets low on time counters, play a rescue creature and return it to your hand. You can replay it fully restocked with time counters! Your rescue creatures do more than return your Calciderms to your hand. If you rescue Mogg War Marshal, you’ll get another Goblin token when you replay it. If you rescue Icatian Javelineers, it’ll come back with a fresh javelin counter. A rescue creature with flash can save a creature after combat damage has been assigned, or after it’s been targeted by a spell that will destroy it. Don’t be afraid to rescue your own rescue creatures! If you play Dust Elemental, you can return Dust Elemental itself plus two of your other creatures to your hand. Now Dust Elemental is ready for more rescuing, and the other creatures are ready to come back into play, good as new.

Future Sight PCD Future Shock

Worried that in the future, peace will be declared across the multiverse? Have no fear! As the “Future Shock” deck proves, tomorrow’s Magic games will be filled with as many fierce beasts, warriors, and brutes slavering for a fight as you could hope for—and you get a sneak peek! That’s because this deck contains nothing but basic lands and Future Sight “timeshifted” cards. The strategy is simple: Play impressive creatures and attack. The key is to get a jump on your opponent by bringing the beatdown before it can be handled. Edge of Autumn and Grinning Ignus both give you a mana boost so you can play your bigger creatures faster. Even better, Centaur Omenreader reduces the cost you pay for your creatures as long as it’s tapped—and attacking with it is a great way to tap it! If your opponent tries to put up a fight, Ghostfire can clear out potential blockers, as can a Bloodshot Trainee enchanted with Flowstone Embrace. More impressively, Boldwyr Intimidator lets you bypass any blockers altogether. The future will be ferocious! ...

Future Sight PCD Fate Blaster

The “Fate Blaster” deck is designed to let you get ahead of yourself. That’s because you’ll have your head in the future, molding fate to your whims. This deck is packed with scry effects, from Mystic Speculation to Riddle of Lightning to Cryptic Annelid. Keep manipulating the top of your deck, and you’ll keep drawing the cards you need. Magus of the Future will ramp your magical meddling into overdrive, as you’ll be able to play cards right off the top of your deck, before you even get to draw them! If your scry cards don’t help you find the Magus fast enough, Vedalken Aethermage’s wizardcycling ability will pull it right into your hand. But why stop there? Fool around with your opponent’s fate, too, by using Spin into Myth’s fateseal ability or by attacking with Barbed Shocker. The Shocker’s ability is especially nasty if you’ve just used Venser’s Diffusion or Aven Augur to sweep away your opponent’s best creatures. Keep your opponent off-balance long enough, and your extra cards and idealized draws will ensure that the future holds your victory!...

Future Sight PCD Rebels Unite

Explore your rebellious side! With the “Rebels Unite” deck, you’ll take command of a ragtag group of scrappy fighters that are always willing to rally to the cause. Their ambush tactics will help you win the day. Rebels like Amrou Scout let you search your deck for a Rebel card and put it directly into play. Ramosian Revivalist does the same, but for a Rebel in your graveyard. Whenever you have the choice, recruit a Rebel this way rather than playing one from your hand—it’s like drawing and playing an extra card! Do that enough times over the course of the game and your opponent won’t be able to keep up. Plus, you get to choose the Rebel that would help you the most. Don’t forget that Bound in Silence is a Rebel Aura! Your deadliest ally is Magus of the Abyss. Each player will have to choose one of his or her own creatures for the Magus to destroy each turn—but thanks to your Rebels, you’ll have an endless creature supply. Your opponent won’t be so lucky. ...

Future Sight PCD Suspended Sentence

Ever wished you could control time? While playing the “Suspended Sentence” deck, you’ll use suspend, vanishing, and cards that manipulate time counters to knock the timestream on its ear! The most important card in the deck is Paradox Haze. Giving yourself two upkeeps a turn means you’ll pull time counters off your suspended cards twice as fast. This is especially good for your Reality Strobe and Festering March, which re-suspend themselves each time you play them. The other crucial card is Reality Acid. It’s fine if you wait three turns, remove the last time counter, and get rid of the enchanted permanent. But it’s amazing if you use your many bounce effects, including Reality Strobe, Dream Stalker, and Riftwing Cloudskate, to return Reality Acid to your hand. The enchanted permanent will be sacrificed, and you get to enchant a new permanent. Once you’ve taken control of the game by removing all your opponent’s threats, your powerful evasion creatures, including Nihilith and Infiltrator il-Kor, will make sure you have no trouble putting the game away!...

Planar Chaos PCD Ixidors Legacy

Ixidor was the master illusionist who created morph magic, and his legacy is one of trickery and deceit. While playing the “Ixidor’s Legacy” deck, you’ll pick up right where he left off. Shapeshifting is this deck’s specialty. Your face-down creatures do it. Your Shapeshifters do it. Cards like Unstable Mutation or Shaper Parasite do it. But the real fun is when you shift the shape of your opponent’s creatures! Shaper Parasite can drop a small creature’s toughness to 0, spelling its immediate doom. Even better, Serendib Sorcerer and Merfolk Thaumaturgist can team up to turn any creature into a not-long-for-this-world 2/0. After you’ve dealt with your opponent’s threats, it’s time to finish the game with some threats of your own. Tidewalker isn’t very stable, but it can be gigantic. How big Aeon Chronicler is depends on your hand size, which means it can also be huge—and if it’s getting too small, you can play Ovinomancer or turn Fathom Seer face up to put a bunch of cards in your hand. As Ixidor’s heir, you’ll always have another trick up your sleeve!...

Time Spiral PCD Hopes Crusaders

Nothing—not even an apocalypse—can keep a noble fighter down, and the “Hope’s Crusaders” deck is proof of that. Lead your troops onto the battlefield and give them the one command they want to hear: “Charge!” This deck gives your opponent no good blocking options: Either your creatures will get through, or your opponent’s blockers will be overmatched in combat. As soon as the game begins, your plan is to play creatures and start attacking! Many of the creatures in the “Hope’s Crusaders” deck have flanking. Whenever a creature with flanking is blocked by a creature without flanking, the blocker will become smaller. This can swing combat in your favor, but the ability is useful only when attacking, so don’t let it go to waste. Press your advantage and take the battle to your opponent. As the game develops, your opponent is sure to play a blocker that’s too large for your Knights to handle. In that case, Gustcloak Cavalier can nudge it out of the way every turn, or Gaze of Justice can nudge it out of the game entirely. Pentarch Paladin can devastate your opponent if you’ve chosen the right color. If you’ve also got a Cloudchaser Kestrel, the right color is white—those two cards together will let you destroy your opponent’s best permanent every single turn. Meanwhile, keep attacking for every point of damage you can squeeze in. Your ragtag army of Knights will get a boost from both Zhalfirin Commander and Cavalry Master. The Commander helps your Knights, and the Cavalry Master helps your creatures with flanking—and in this deck, those two groups are exactly the same. Other support creatures, like D’Avenant Healer and Icatian Javelineers, reinforce the deck’s theme. If your opponent ever tries to block your onrushing forces, the blockers will be picked off while the attackers will live to fight another day. Even better, a well-timed Ivory Giant may make it impossible for your opponent to block at all. After you’ve gotten the hang of the deck, try changing it around. You can speed the deck up by adding more one-mana and two-mana creatures, and it’s all the better if they’re Knights. The Time Spiral card Serra Avenger is a worthy addition to any offensive deck. And the Ninth Edition card Glorious Anthem will pump up your entire army. ...
